Sunshine Orienteers is holding a series of Night Navigation  opportunities across the Sunshine Coast, from the 7th of May to the 18th of June. Registration time is 5.50pm with starts from 6pm. Oriana Choir is presenting a Dancing Queen Concert – “A Tribute to ABBA and Queen”, at Stella Maris Concert Hall on the 11th and “The J” at Noosa on the 18th of May, at matinee and evening performances. 2024 Sunshine Coast Veterans Tennis Tournament will be held from the 17th to 19th of May, hosted by Nambour and Hinterland Tennis Clubs, attracting entrants locally and Australia wide. Suncoast Gem & Fossicking Club is holding an Open Day on Saturday the 18th of May, from 8am to midday, at 22 Syd Lingard Drive, Buderim. Explore displays of rough and polished rocks, dazzling crystals and rare minerals. Sales of jewellery, semi-precious stones, specimen pieces and rough slabbed rock. Raffles, sausage sizzle and easy parking.

 Glasshouse Christian College is holding an Open Day on Saturday the 18th of May, from 10am to 2pm, at 58 Roberts Road, Beerwah. Experience campus tours, student performances, science shows, free animal nursery and train rides, for a day of family fun. This is an opportunity to experience why this Prep to Year 12 College, in Beerwah, is so popular.

The FESTURI Surf and Sea Multicultural Festival, which was previously postponed because of bad weather, is now scheduled for the 18th & 19th of May. Head along to Eleanor Shipley Park, Moffatt Beach from midday on both days. The Festival is set to heighten your senses with a variety of fantastic global performances.

The Niche Art Group, which comprises 12 award winning artists, is holding an art show and sale at their studio, cnr. Elizabeth Street and Sunrise Avenue, Coolum Beach on the 18th & 19th of May from 10am to 4pm each day. There will be a variety of art on show from portraits to wildlife & stunning scenery. A percentage of any profit made will be given to the Coolum Hearts charity.

TULE - Tying Up Loose Ends is presenting “What About Me” – The Real Cost of Contesting a Will, at the Players Playhouse in the Maleny Showgrounds, on the 19th of May at 2pm.  The Buderim Craft Cottage is holding the Existence Exhibition, on the 18th to the 26th of May, from 10am to 4pm each day, featuring the Buderim Fibre Art and Surface Design group. The theme Existence is being represented in many different mediums, using a vast range of artistic techniques. This will be a very exciting and unique exhibition.

The Noosa Chorale is presenting Mendelssohn’s oratorio Elijah, at The J, Noosa Junction, at 7pm on the 24th & 2pm on the 25th of May. The performance will feature a full orchestra, four soloists and the Noosa Chorale, conducted by Kim Kirkman.  The dramatic rhythms, stirring four-part choruses, and beautiful solos make for a masterpiece that is as thrilling to sing as it is to listen to.  The show runs for 2 hours with an interval. Caloundra Uniting Church is holding Messy Church on Saturday the 25th of May, from 4.45 to 6.30pm, at 56C Queen Street, in the hall under the Church. The Mapleton Country Market is being held in the Mapleton School Carpark on Saturday the 25th of May from 8am to midday. There will be genuine bargains of plants, timber, honey, sourdoughs, pastries, and lots more. Enjoy the free entertainment while enjoying waffles, hot food and barista coffee.

 The Zonta Club of Blackall Range needs your help. Every year they pack 600 birthing kits which are sent to third world countries to help women to have a safe birthing experience, resulting in a healthy baby. They will be holding a packing morning at the Maleny RSL on the 25th of May, from 9.30am. Join them for some lively company and a delicious morning tea, while contributing to this worthy cause.

Woodford Lions Club are holding their annual 'Dancing in The Cool' on Saturday the 1st of June, from 6.30 to 10.30pm, at the Woodford Memorial Hall.  Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre is again hosting Cinema on the Roof, at the Cooroy Library, on Saturday the 1st of June from 6pm to 8pm. Go along with your family, a blanket, and a picnic, to enjoy the movie “Migration”, under the stars. Admission is by donation and bookings are not required.

The Sunshine Coast Arts and Crafts Group is holding its Winter Craft Fair on the 1st & 2nd of June at the Montville Village Hall from 9am. The Fairs are always very popular and are an opportunity for members to showcase their art and craft skills to the public. A fabulous Hamper raffle will be drawn over the weekend, and a café serving delicious treats will be onsite.

The Jazz and Blues Collective will present The Tropical Dance Sextet, with their “Rome to Rio” concert, featuring their most popular Italian and Brazilian jazz songs.  FAST Australia is hosting a charity golf tournament on the 7th of June at Headland Golf Club, to raise funds towards a cure for Angelman Syndrome. They would welcome registrations for a tee off time of 7:30am, followed by a buffet luncheon with prizes and raffles. The Family of League Charity is hosting a State of Origin Lunch at the Maroochy RSL on the 7th of June from 11.30am to 3pm, with Guest Speaker, Paul Vautin. Cotton Tree Markets are held each Sunday from 7am to midday, at King Street, Mooloolaba. There is live music, great coffee and locally made treasures.  The artisan vendors and local retailers have something for everyone. Proceeds from the Markets go to local charity, Bloomhill Cancer Care, so this is a Sunday morning experience sure to leave you smiling!

 The 'Coolum Rolls-Royce Museum' is open on the first Saturday of each month from 7am to 10am, at 52 Lysaght Street Coolum, with 34 Rolls-Royce, Bentley and other vintage vehicles on display. Inside the Showroom, enjoy a guided tour of rare motor vehicles and eight Rolls-Royce engines, some ex-military, including a famous Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. Admission is by donation of only $10 per person.

Let your morning coffee make a difference. Local Nambour charity, the Everyday Foundation, formerly known as Suncoast Care, has partnered with Sunshine Coast coffee roastery Kai Coffee to raise funds to provide winter warmth to the most vulnerable in our community. All profits from specially marked Kai coffee beans go towards the ‘Beans for Beanies’ cause.

If you would like to become more involved in your community, make friends and help those in need, why not consider joining Buderim Rotary Club. The Little Shop of Hope Op Shop, at Buderim Uniting Church, is now open on the first Saturday of each month, from 8.30am to midday, as well as Tuesdays and Thursdays. They have a great range of clothing, linen, crockery, books, shoes, jewellery, and many more treasures to entice you.

The Alexandra Headland Probus Club invites you to join them at the Maroochy RSL at 9.30am on the third Monday of each month. They have an interesting guest speaker at each meeting as well as activities and outings throughout the month. Retire from work - not from life!

Ladies, do you fancy doing the can-can? The Golden Groovers Seniors Dance Troupe entertain around the Sunshine Coast with musical theatre style dances, featuring costumes and comedy. They meet at 9am on the second Wednesday of each month at the Caloundra Indoor Bowls Club, Burke Street, Golden Beach. Joining Probus provides an opportunity to listen to interesting speakers and participate in activities in the company of new friends.

 WomenKind Australia invites you to join them on the second Friday each month, at Nambour Twilight Markets, from 4.30pm to 8.30pm in raising funds to support women experiencing domestic violence. Indulge in a variety of foods, explore art exhibits, and enjoy live music at this family-friendly market. Discover unique treasures while supporting local businesses and artisans.

Sunshine Coast PCYC has places available for the ‘Get Set for Work’ Program. The Program offers young people aged 15-19 years, an opportunity to gain nationally recognised training, and access support services to prepare for future employment, training or education.
